How To Trust God With Your Worries!!Hi! My name is Emma Grace and I'm most of the time a worrier. I worry about almost everything. I worry about something as small as going to a camp with people I know a second year to who I'm going to talk to during pep band. Ever since my worry has gotten very bad, I have taken steps to help it. I have read many blog post, Bible verses, and attended devos. Worry is a scary thing, but ever since I have started this journey, I feel like I have hope that one day I will not worry. Before this journey, I would write about how to overcome worry, but now writing this blog post I have realized that I was just telling myself I had overcome it, but I was not doing anything to actually help myself. Many Bible verses have impacted me on my journey. One verse that comes to mind is Psalm 55:22... When I first read this verse it made me realize that God will take worry right from us. But once I studied more into worry, I realized that there is no need to worry. We didn't create our life, God did. We don't control our life, God does. God is in control! We shouldn't worry about situations we can't control because in those situations we should put our trust in God. Here are some ways we can trust God with our worries when we are in situations we can contribute to or change. I like to write down all of my worries. Beside each worry, I write a positive effect from it. Writing your worries down will first help them get out of your head and then writing down the positive effects will help you realize that there is no need to worry because God is showing you there is something good coming from it. We also need to figure out how we need to get through this worry. Getting through worry can be extremely hard. When we are thinking about how we are going to get through the worry we need to remember that we are not alone through it. God will be with us during all of it and He loves us and would never put us through something we couldn't take. 1 Corinthians 10:13 says, "No temptation has overtaken you except such is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it." Worry can become a wall between our relationship with God and us. We then start to focus only on the worry and we forget our true creator and king, God. During times of worry, we need to make sure we are speaking to our Father and reading His word. If you are not doing that, the worry will grow and you will lose hope. One of my favorite hymns is "Because He Lives"! My favorite line of the hymn is "Because He lives I can face tomorrow. Because He lives all fear is gone." This line speaks dear to my heart in times of worry. Because He lives, I know that anything that I go through with God on my side, I can conquer it. Filling your mind with words from God will help you get through worry. Listed down below are some of my favorite Bible verses about worry. I suggest printing out these verses and placing them around your house to remind you that during times of worry let your relationship with God grow. Next time you start to worry think about the situation, ask yourself "can I contribute to it or not?". If you can't, pray to God for awareness and the ones you can contribute to, plan out your worry, pray to God, and fill your mind with His word. Because we know that God cares for us and will be with us during all times, we can walk through life with a smile on our face and peace in our heart! If you ever need help with worry or have any questions please email me at egowens21@gmail . Hope this blog post has brought you joy! God bless! Love, Emma Grace Matthew 6:34 " Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own. " Proverbs 3:5-6 " Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight. " Philippians 4:6-7 " Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. " 1 Peter 5:7 " Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you. " Matthew 6:25 " Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? " Luke 12:25-27 "Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to your life? Since you cannot do this very little thing, why do you worry about the rest? Consider how the wild flowers grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you, not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these." Psalm 56:3 "When I am afraid, I put my trust in you." Psalm 94:19 " When anxiety was great within me, your consolation brought joy to my soul." Proverbs 12:25 "An anxious heart weighs a man down, but a kind word cheers him up." Joshua 1:9 " Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go." Hello and welcome back today I'm diving headfirst into a topic that is very near and dear to my heart, and a very personal struggle of mine. When I decided to start blogging again I had the realization that if I'm going to engage readers I must be transparent. Perfectionism is what I would call a blessing and a curse. But if you look up the definition of it this is what comes up: Perfectionism, in psychology, is a personality trait characterized by a person's striving for flawlessness and setting excessively high performance standards, accompanied by overly critical self-evaluations and concerns regarding others' evaluations. It is best conceptualized as a multidimensional characteristic, as psychologists agree that there are many positive and negative aspects. I am writing this post as a text-book perfectionist. I have been there I have felt myself be paralyzed with the fear of failure. I've cried many tears over trivial matters because they didn't turn out the way i wanted or they were not "perfect". So I'm writing this post in hopes to help people like me. I have not overcome my battle with perfectionism I've struggled with it my whole life ,but i am accepting it and trying to let it go. "There is a difference between striving for excellence and demanding perfection." -Psychology Today This is so true. A key concept to wrap your head around as a perfectionist is: Perfection is impossible. The longer you keep chasing perfection the unhappier you will become. The trap we get lost in is reaching a goal will satisfy us. The truth is for us, no goal we reach will ever be good enough, or "perfect" enough. So we end up chasing our tails around in circles leading to depression, procrastination, and unhappiness. If you think I'm kidding just look up "perfectionism" you will se everything I just told you and more. But this doesn't have to be the way you live your life. The way I've began to cope is by realizing: your best is your best. and: your worth is not a performance in anything. and: we all have bad days. that's ok. as long as you get up and try again tomorrow. These are all hard pills to swallow if you "demand perfection" so the next time the weight of perfectionism is threatening to push you over the edge remember: Do your best, this doesn't define you, its ok to fail because you can try again tomorrow. And give yourself grace because you are amazing even if you don't believe it. "cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you" -peter 5:7
Welcome back sweet friends! The good Lord has put it on my heart to share with you my thoughts about self worth. I've heard too many stories ,and seen it with my own eyes. Girls being down on themselves, letting other people influence them to make the wrong decisions because they feel like they can't say no, or girls truly not realizing how worth it THEY are. I'm not saying I haven't been there too ,but I just want to try and convince YOU how worth it YOU are! { Worth -preposition- good or important enough to justify} dictionary.com First, I wanted to share the definition of worth with you. Worth is classified as something "good' or "important" enough to justify. The first point I want to make is you are a daughter of the God of the Universe, and to Him you are priceless. Did you know to Him you are worth His one and only son's life? That's right, He sent His one and only perfect son to die for you. That means even if your friends or a boy do not think you are beautiful, precious, and special. It's ok because the God of the entire universe who created YOU in His image, 'knitted you together' and made you exactly who He wanted you to be. That God loves you exactly the way YOU are. Please remember He is YOUR Father ,so talk to Him he always listens ,even if He doesn't give you the answer you want He always gives the right answer. "For You formed my inward parts; |
