How To Trust God With Your Worries!!Hi! My name is Emma Grace and I'm most of the time a worrier. I worry about almost everything. I worry about something as small as going to a camp with people I know a second year to who I'm going to talk to during pep band. Ever since my worry has gotten very bad, I have taken steps to help it. I have read many blog post, Bible verses, and attended devos. Worry is a scary thing, but ever since I have started this journey, I feel like I have hope that one day I will not worry. Before this journey, I would write about how to overcome worry, but now writing this blog post I have realized that I was just telling myself I had overcome it, but I was not doing anything to actually help myself. Many Bible verses have impacted me on my journey. One verse that comes to mind is Psalm 55:22... When I first read this verse it made me realize that God will take worry right from us. But once I studied more into worry, I realized that there is no need to worry. We didn't create our life, God did. We don't control our life, God does. God is in control! We shouldn't worry about situations we can't control because in those situations we should put our trust in God. Here are some ways we can trust God with our worries when we are in situations we can contribute to or change. I like to write down all of my worries. Beside each worry, I write a positive effect from it. Writing your worries down will first help them get out of your head and then writing down the positive effects will help you realize that there is no need to worry because God is showing you there is something good coming from it. We also need to figure out how we need to get through this worry. Getting through worry can be extremely hard. When we are thinking about how we are going to get through the worry we need to remember that we are not alone through it. God will be with us during all of it and He loves us and would never put us through something we couldn't take. 1 Corinthians 10:13 says, "No temptation has overtaken you except such is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it." Worry can become a wall between our relationship with God and us. We then start to focus only on the worry and we forget our true creator and king, God. During times of worry, we need to make sure we are speaking to our Father and reading His word. If you are not doing that, the worry will grow and you will lose hope. One of my favorite hymns is "Because He Lives"! My favorite line of the hymn is "Because He lives I can face tomorrow. Because He lives all fear is gone." This line speaks dear to my heart in times of worry. Because He lives, I know that anything that I go through with God on my side, I can conquer it. Filling your mind with words from God will help you get through worry. Listed down below are some of my favorite Bible verses about worry. I suggest printing out these verses and placing them around your house to remind you that during times of worry let your relationship with God grow. Next time you start to worry think about the situation, ask yourself "can I contribute to it or not?". If you can't, pray to God for awareness and the ones you can contribute to, plan out your worry, pray to God, and fill your mind with His word. Because we know that God cares for us and will be with us during all times, we can walk through life with a smile on our face and peace in our heart! If you ever need help with worry or have any questions please email me at egowens21@gmail . Hope this blog post has brought you joy! God bless! Love, Emma Grace Matthew 6:34 " Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own. " Proverbs 3:5-6 " Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight. " Philippians 4:6-7 " Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. " 1 Peter 5:7 " Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you. " Matthew 6:25 " Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? " Luke 12:25-27 "Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to your life? Since you cannot do this very little thing, why do you worry about the rest? Consider how the wild flowers grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you, not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these." Psalm 56:3 "When I am afraid, I put my trust in you." Psalm 94:19 " When anxiety was great within me, your consolation brought joy to my soul." Proverbs 12:25 "An anxious heart weighs a man down, but a kind word cheers him up." Joshua 1:9 " Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go." Hey y'all! Welcome back today I'm going to be re-caping all the things i learned as a freshman! I hope this help put you at peace for high school and makes you excited for this fun journey! 1. be open minded The first piece of advice i have for you is to be open minded. Be ready for change this isn't what you're used to, but you can do this. Talk to the person next you even if you don't know them. The easiest way to make friends is to talk to people just be nice! Getting to know the people in your classes is key to having a enjoyable year. Besides you never know when you will need some one to help you with homework, eat with at lunch, or walk to class with. 2. plug in Find something to belong to this is very important because this is where you find your people. Join a club or sport you are interested in and love because then you will find a whole group of people you already have something in common with! BOOM, FRIENDS. 3. be super nice to your teachers THIS IS SO IMPORTANT. Be a good kid, put in the work in their class, ask questions, get help, talk to your teachers THEY ARE SUPER COOL PEOPLE. Because if you become comfortable with your teachers and get to know them and they get to know you as a student they can help you. YOUR TEACHERS ARE NOT TRYING TO FAIL YOU. Students failing looks so bad on teachers they don't want that, so if you're struggling talk to them work it out 9 times out of10 they are more than happy to help. Even if you don't like them and they are difficult be nice give them grace, because if you give them grace most of the time they will give you grace, and we all make mistakes. (even teachers) 4. your future starts now don't waste itHere you are, high school. Welcome to the big leagues we aren't in middle school anymore we've begun a whole new ball game. YOUR GRADES COUNT NOW BTW. Do not dismiss your school work because you're a freshman. Don't not join clubs because you are a freshman. Every opportunity you have to start building your college resume starts now. And yeah maybe it won't hurt you in the long run, but you also may be looking back as a senior thinking "i wish when i was a freshman..." because you barely get beat out of an acceptance letter, scholarship, or internship because of a dumb decision you made as a freshman. Don't survive high school thrive in it. 5. challenge yourselfIt's ok for you to be challenged it makes you a better person and student. Don't take the easy way out, make sure you are learning to the capacity you should be. Because its more fun to feel accomplished and work hard than to be lazy and bored. 6. have funYou only get to do high school once take advantage of it. It's important to take school seriously but this is still supposed to be the best time of your life so: Join the club, Try out for the team, Talk to the kid in 5th period, Sit with you lab partner at lunch, Go to the game, ask someone to Homecoming, audition for the play DO WHAT MAKES YOU HAPPY AND ENJOY YOURSELF! i had so much fun freshman year an i hope these tips help you make yours enjoyable!!!! |

Hello friends welcome back! Today I have a very exciting post a interview with one of my favorite bloggers! Ashley from @therichmondprepster ,and once again I'm blown away by her genuine and inspiring answers ,and I'm so excited to get to share some of her blogging expertise with y'all! I hope you enjoy getting to know this phenomenal girl just a little bit better!
1. What has being a blogger/instagramer taught you?
Before I started blogging and just used Instagram merely as a way to post photos on my personal account, I didn't really see social media or even blogging as an actual tool that could help you reach people all across the globe. After blogging and becoming a social media influencer I truly have found appreciation for all the work that goes into maintaining and producing successful social media accounts, platforms, and blogs. There's so many fine details that go into running a successful business via blog or Instagram and it's also become an amazing way to advertise to crowds you might not have reached or connected with before.
2. What is your favorite thing about blogging?
. This is honestly a really hard question because I love so many things about blogging, but I would say my top favorite thing is that blogging has introduced me to so many headstrong, independent, and creative women. Two of my very best girl friends are actually gals I met through blogging and now I've even made plans to make a trip back up to NY to have a girls weekend with a couple of my favorite blogger babes and influencers. It's amazing how something as small as an app or a website can create such a strong knit group of women that you come to consider your very best friends, but that you wouldn't of known had it not been for taking that little leap into the blogosphere.
3. What is the biggest tip you can give to new bloggers?
. The most important and/or biggest tip I can give to beginning bloggers is to stay true to yourself. I know how easy it is to get caught up in the "she has this so I should get this to increase my following" or "they just did this blog post so I should do this blog post", but honestly the best thing about having YOUR OWN blog is that it's yours, and that there are thousands of people out there that will enjoy the content you create that is unique to your blog and your interests. But you just have to give them time to come across your platforms! I am definitely guilty of playing follow the leader when it comes to bloggers and influencers that are more popular than I am, but just in recent months I decided to start doing just what Ashley wanted to do and I all of the sudden started noticing that my social media engagement/following and the amount of views on my blog started to sky rocket.
4. What motivated you to start your blog?
I really don't have any huge exciting reason behind why I started The Richmond Prepster, except for I decided that I needed a new hobby. I've always been really busy and active and then my Sophomore year of college hit and I honestly was just so bored with my life: work, gym, and classes were all I ever did. So one night I was just like "okay Ashley, you've had this Instagram account for a couple months now, lets just go for it". I really had no idea what I was doing but I knew that I had nothing to lose by attempting to blog so I kind of just went for it. I've always admired people who had a strong sense of style and made a career out of it so I just decided to "go for the gold"!
5. Have you seen yourself grow through your blogging and social media journey?
. I truly believe that blogging has not only enhanced my life significantly, but it's also made me a lot more confident and proud of myself. I really started from the bottom and had no clue what I was doing and it gives me great gratification to know that all my hard work has really payed off and resulted in me being presented with some pretty awesome opportunities (Victory Cup Polo, Barrington Gifts, KJP, etc.). Blogging has also really helped to boost my confidence and make me really see (and acknowledge) all the potential I have as an individual. I've always lacked self confidence and although sometimes I still do I can genuinely say that blogging has made my self esteem and how I view myself improve greatly. My social skills have also really taken a turn seeing as in the past I wouldn't even start a conversation with another person just because I felt like the way they were dressed indicated that they were of a higher status than myself, but now I find myself reaching out to companies like Barrington Gifts and Lauren James and I'm really amazed at how much more out-going and willing to put myself out there I am now. Blogging has tons of benefits but I would say that the best ones are that it teaches and demands that you step outside of your comfort zone!
Thank You for reading! be sure to follow all my socials and Ashley's Instagram!
Welcome back! Today's post is all about how I use my planner! The planner I'm using this year is a Kate Spade planner I will link below! I love this planner and highly recommend it if you're still in the market for a new planner for this 2017-18 school year!
1. Highlighting the outside of important dates
I always write down tests, events ,and homework and highlight over it. I don't have any specific colors or coding I just use whatever colors I'm feeling!
3. Crossing off days
4. Writing inspirational quotes in the margins
Another thing I like to do is use where there is space for notes I like to make doodles or write inspirational quotes. I find this to be really fun and effective.
